THHINK Wireless Technologies Ltd is an ICT company that was founded in 2009 after more than a decade of research and development in wireless and energy harvesting technologies. The vision of THHINK is to create innovative technology solutions for ubiquitous sensing and computing to achieve a more efficient, interconnected and environmentally sound future. Through many years of R&D experience with leading companies in the aerospace, automotive (Formula 1), marine, rail transport, energy and health sectors, THHINK has developed exceptional expertise in the field of advanced sensing, remote condition monitoring, wireless data acquisition, control systems and telemetry information systems.
THHINK is engaged at the UK national level in the Transport Systems Catapult and is also working with Cranfield University on practical applications of Cyber Physical Systems. At the European level THHINK is a consultant to DG Connect writing a number of EC documents on Cyber Physical Systems, Systems of Systems, Internet of Things and Digital Manufacturing covering technology roadmaps, policy and strategy for ICT. THHINK also works for the European Parliament on the societal and legal issues of future transportation systems. At an International Level THHINK works with the Director of NIST’s Engineering Labs. on Intelligent Manufacturing Systems and with NASA on remote agriculture and flood monitoring. In 2011 THHINK Wireless Technologies Japan was formed to develop micro-generator technology to power future M2M and IoT applications. In 2016 THHINK B.V. (NL) and THHINK Autonomous Systems Pty. (Aus) were set up to further the company’s activities in CPS/IoT and autonomous systems.
Contribution to Platforms4CPS
- Lead WP4 ‘Collaboration/Consensus building and Creation of Foresight Community‘ building on vast experience in working with industry and academia in the CPS domain across the aerospace, automotive, marine, rail manufacturing, energy and health sectors and strong networks.
- Active in all other WPs, especially leading tasks ‘Opportunities for European ecosystem of technology providers’ in WP1 and ‘Recommendations on future Business opportunities and innovation strategies’ in WP2 as well as the final publication in WP5.
- Supply of strategic input with regard to European policy developments and relevance for project activities
